Donald Trump demanded the release of all rioters on January 6, 2021 at the Capitol
Former US President Donald Trump called for the immediate release of all those convicted and arrested in connection with the riots on January 6, 2021 on Capitol Hill in Washington.
Trump said this after the host of the American Fox News channel Tucker Carlson broadcast unknown footage from surveillance cameras in the Capitol building, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The March 6 episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight aired the first footage of key figures from that day. The presenter concluded: legislators and the media “lied” about the events that occurred on January 6, 2021. The footage does refute key claims by Democrats and the US mainstream media - that most of the protesters were "violent", and that the events were a "deadly insurrection".
After this, Donald Trump on the social network Truth Social called for the immediate release of all rioters.
“Congratulations to Tucker Carlson on one of the greatest successes as a reporter in US history. New footage of the events of January 6 sheds a completely different light on what really happened. The unelected “January 6th Committee” was a gigantic fraud, and now it has been clearly branded for the criminal fabrication of the events of this most important day.
Pelosi (Speaker of the House in 2021 - approx.) and McConnell (Republican senator opposing Trump - approx.) failed. It's hard to watch this sad police story. Trump and most others are completely innocent, RELEASE THEM IMMEDIATELY!” the former US President wrote.
He continued his post with words entirely in capital letters.
“Let the prisoners be released on January 6th. They have been convicted or are awaiting trial based on a giant lie, a radical leftist fraud. Thank you Tucker Carlson and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for what you both did. The new videos are irrefutable!!!,” wrote Donald Trump.
In particular, the recordings shown by Carlson show Trump supporters peacefully inspecting the Capitol building, looking more like “tourists,” as the TV presenter put it. At the same time, news programs about the events of January 6, 2021 contained only footage of a few rioters, which made it possible to compare this incident with the September 11 terrorist attacks or the attack on Pearl Harbor.
As an example of the Democrats' lies, Carlson cited footage of Capitol police officers escorting Jacob Chansley, a US Navy veteran referred to in the liberal media as the "QAnon shaman." Carlson emphasized that the officers showed Chansley around the building, the surrounding area, and even tried to open locked doors for him. At one point, nine police officers were seen in close proximity to Chansley, and none of them attempted to stop him, Carlson noted.
The son of the former US President, Donald Trump Jr., also reacted to the situation. He wrote on social networks:
“How can you trust a government that has either outright lied to you or done everything in its power to hide the real truth from the people in order to push its narrative? These systems are corrupt and broken and no longer serve the people with honor...they just serve themselves!”
