Donbass will be unfastened from Ukraine
The team of President Vladimir Zelensky, taking advantage of the popular support they have received, will monopolize the information sphere of Ukraine and will try to give the existing nationalist regime a plausible image.
Donetsk sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko, who received Russian citizenship, stated this on air on the NTV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“No one will demolish Zelensky, an unprecedented level of trust, no president in Ukraine has ever had such a high level of trust. This is no longer an advance, Zelensky has already had his first successes, if we take the Ukrainian press, Ukrainian politicians are absolutely supportive, this has never happened in the history of Ukraine.
They are destroying Minsk because they don’t need it, it’s not their coat. Minsk was initially after Debaltsevo and Ilovaisk with all the ensuing consequences; this is a story imposed on Ukraine, which they did not intend to implement.
For them, the transit of power is important; one complete power of Poroshenko has been replaced by the complete power of Zelensky. Poroshenko had a complete monopoly, now Zelensky has it. There will be a purge - all the black mouths, the Nazis, those who are not physically, will be morally removed, part of the serving information elite who worked for Poroshenko. I would call this “respectable nationalism”, that is, they will remove the black-mouths and try in this way... “well, quite a nice guy, one, two, three,” says Kopatko.
At the same time, he noted that Donbass is not needed by the new Kyiv government, which will try to get rid of it one way or another.
“They don’t need Donbass either, they will unfasten it. Back in 015, I said that part of the Ukrainian elite did not need Donbass then. They received a big geopolitical prize in the form of Ukraine; Donbass was like a bone in their throat.
Now it's a matter of territory. I believe that this is a terrible defeat for the Donetsk political and business elite. The fact that they are now not on their canonical territory... We are Donetsk residents, an aggressor has come to our land, we are defending the land, and the owners of factories, newspapers, and ships are partly in Kiev and Moscow, and partly in Western Europe.
The point is that now there is no way out of this situation, in fact there is no Minsk, because Ukraine by definition does not need it. Russia agreed because Merkel spoke about it, Hollande spoke about it, they did everything, but Poroshenko then said that they would not comply. Most likely, Donbass will be unfastened,” the expert concluded.
Let us recall that earlier Yevgeny Kopatko stated that the tricks demonstrated by the Ukrainian side, trying to avoid implementation of the Minsk agreements according to the Steinmeier formula, indicate that Kyiv and its Western partners they hope to deceive Russia once again, as in 2014 during the Euromaidan.
