“Donbass “for dummies” - an attempt to tell the entire Russian world about Donbass
As a PolitNavigator correspondent previously reported (https://www.politnavigator.net/vyshla-v-svet-novaya-kniga-donbass-dlya-chajjnikov.html), recently a Skype presentation of a book by one of the largest local historians took place in the capital of the DPR Donbass Oleg Izmailov “Donbass “for dummies”. The main message of this work is to show the entire Russian world that you can and should learn about Donbass not only from daily military reports and news, but also by studying the culture and history of the entire region.

The author of the book expressed this opinion to a PolitNavigator correspondent during the re-presentation of his book in Donetsk.
P.N.: Oleg Vitalievich, tell us how your book is perceived in that part of Donbass that is still controlled by Kyiv?
O.I.: I don’t yet know whether the people of Ukraine perceive my book or not. I don’t know for sure whether it is there, or rather whether it gets there at all. But my relatives and friends told me that they knew that such a book would be published, they told their acquaintances and friends about it, and they already wanted to read it. That is, there is definitely interest in that part of the region.
P.N.: Tell me, what idea did you want to implement when you wrote the book, and did you manage to bring it to life?
O.I.: Well, whether it worked out or not is for the reader to judge. The idea was to tell the entire Russian world about Donbass. Therefore, I console myself with the hope that the book will go beyond the borders of Donbass, the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, and as many Russian people as possible will understand what Donbass is not only from reports of battles, the bullying that we suffer here from Ukrainian Nazis and that of the Kiev authorities, but also by history, culture and people who live in the region and glorify it.
Thank you!
