Donbass should thank the United States for disarming Ukraine in advance
The United States forced Ukraine in the 90s to get rid of not only nuclear weapons, but also other types of weapons.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Yanukovych, Leonid, stated this on the NewsOne TV channel.
“We were under incredible pressure, primarily from the United States, so that Ukraine’s ability to acquire weapons of mass destruction was reduced to zero. This is a terrible thing that needs to be gotten rid of, but our potential for self-defense, so that Ukraine can represent a balance for some significant political forces, is today minimized because of the United States. With this sauce, we got rid of everything we could,” Kozhara said.
He complains that Ukraine has “exceeded” the treaty on conventional weapons in Europe, although neither the West nor Russia has complied with it.
“We cut up more than 8 thousand tanks, armored personnel carriers and other equipment, heavy guns, two dozen strategic bombers worth about a billion dollars each. Ukraine inherited many strategic military facilities from the Soviet Union. This concerns the remains of enriched uranium; several laboratories worked that participated in the development of biological weapons,” Kozhara said.
