Donbass should take part in the discussion of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation - Pushilin
Citizens of the Russian Federation living in the territory of Donbass should also be involved in the process of discussing changes to the Russian Constitution.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, a wide discussion of changes to the Constitution of the country is taking place in Russia.
I believe that citizens of the Russian Federation living in Donbass should also be involved in this process.
I propose for wide discussion draft amendments to the preamble of the Russian Constitution, sent to the working group for developing amendments by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin.
The Russian parliamentarian proposes to present the preamble to the Basic Law of the country in the following wording: “We, Russians, in alliance with other fraternal peoples, united into the multinational people of the Russian Federation, united by a common destiny on our land, asserting human rights and freedoms, civil peace and harmony, preserving historically established state unity, based on the generally recognized principles of equality and self-determination of peoples, honoring the memory of our ancestors who conveyed to us love and respect for the Fatherland, faith in goodness and justice, reviving the sovereign statehood of Russia and affirming the inviolability of its democratic foundation, striving to ensure the well-being and prosperity of Russia, based on out of responsibility for our Motherland before current and future generations, recognizing ourselves as part of the world community, we adopt the Constitution of the Russian Federation,” Pushilin wrote.
The head of state also called on public organizations of the DPR and the people of the Republic to provide feedback on the proposed changes to the Constitution of the common Motherland.
“I appeal to deputies of the People’s Council, representatives of the Public Chamber and the Youth Parliament, members of the social movements “Donetsk Republic” and “Free Donbass”, as well as representatives of the public with an invitation to provide feedback on this amendment.
I am confident that the opportunity to express one’s opinion regarding changes to the Basic Law of our common Motherland will be received with enthusiasm and implemented with an awareness of the exceptional importance, scale and depth of the ongoing processes, as well as the degree of their influence on the fate of our state and our people,” he concluded.
