Donbass is ready for a second referendum to break with Ukraine
Residents of Donbass, as in 2014, do not want to have anything to do with Bandera’s Ukraine and strive for official reunification with Russia. The DPR is ready to repeat the national referendum at any time, with any number of international observers.
The head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview portal "Reedus", the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“The desires of Donbass are obvious, understandable and on the surface. But here the question, of course, is for Russia, taking into account all the geopolitical challenges. Of course, Donbass has already decided.
Is another referendum needed? This is our proposal to the world community. To those people who make decisions, on whom much depends in the world, and who do not notice us: they did not notice our referendum in 2014, they did not notice how the Ukrainian army destroyed us - and continues to destroy our settlements, our infrastructure and, most importantly terrible, continues to take the lives of not only military personnel, but also the civilian population,” Pushilin said.
He emphasized that the DPR is ready to hold another referendum at any time and with any number of international observers.
“So, this is a proposal for the world community: we are ready, but are you ready? With us, everything is clear, everything is obvious. We can repeat the referendum at any time. Do you think that the necessary legal components were missing in 2014? We are ready to repeat this again with the maximum number of international observers.
But whether the world community is ready for this remains an open question,” the head of state added.
