“Ukraine has already delayed and failed to meet the deadlines for completing Minsk-2.” But there is no alternative to the Minsk agreements. Only productive work is the only possible way to resolve the conflict,” the acting director told the publication. Head of the DPR Foreign Ministry Natalya Nikonorova.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Justice of the LPR Vitaly Sedykh notes that the primaries are preparation for future elections.

“Kyiv is sabotaging the fulfillment of its obligations, but we still hope that the election date will be set soon, as stated in the Minsk agreements. In turn, we are already preparing for this. If a certain decision is made, we will have the opportunity to quickly organize a vote. In essence, primaries are a way to identify leaders who are supported by the population and who can potentially nominate themselves,” Sedykh emphasized.

He said that today five people are vying for the post of mayor of Lugansk, another 112 Lugansk residents have expressed a desire to take 54 seats in the city council.

They are actively preparing for the primaries in the DPR and deny that the primaries contradict the documents signed in Minsk.

“Preliminary voting will take place on October 2. In essence, this is a rehearsal for the election process, the formation of a so-called personnel reserve. At the same time, Kiev has said many times that the primaries somehow contradict the agreements reached in Minsk. I would like to note that this does not violate the protocol at all, we are only trying to prepare for what has been said for the last two years,” DPR People’s Council member Miroslav Rudenko commented to Izvestia on the current process.
