Donbass is on the verge of an eco-catastrophe: chemical plants without electricity

According to the DTEK press service, in Donetsk it was possible to restore power supply to the village of Avdotyino, as well as Maryinka. However, 75 settlements remain without power as a result of the fighting.

The substation on the territory of the Tochmash plant in Donetsk remains mined, a possible explosion of which will cut off power to most of the Kyiv region and Donetsk Prokofiev Airport. Due to the fighting within Donetsk, the Donetsk State Chemical Products Plant was cut off.

“Most of Gorlovka remains without power supply. The machine-building plant named after. Kirov, city tram and trolleybus department. The Gorlovka dairy plant and meat processing plant remain without power supply. Due to damage to the high-voltage line by mine fragments, the Stirol plant, Elastomer LLC, the knitting factory, the Gorlovka pumping station and the city filter station of the Water of Donbass municipal enterprise were de-energized, DTEK said in a statement.

As Navigator reported, on August 10, the Stirol concern announced the threat of an environmental disaster if shelling of the chemical plant territory continued.

Let us recall that earlier the threat of uncontrolled emissions due to a power outage was announced at the Avdeevka Coke and Chemical Plant.
