Donbass did not pass liberal censorship in the film about Doctor Lisa
Elizaveta Glinka – aka Doctor Lisa – is a person of almost impeccable reputation. There are not many people who would evoke in the hearts of thousands (and this pathos is appropriate here) the only kind response. She embodied truly Christian virtues, contained in simple truths: “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “God is love.” Yes, Elizaveta Glinka was not without sin, but this is the case when talking about the negative makes no sense.
Therefore, when Doctor Lisa died on the way to the Khmeimim military base, many people were shocked and frankly crushed. This happens only with popularly beloved heroes. The emphasis is on the last word.
But at the same time, I somehow completely forgot what happened to Lisa’s Doctor in the last years before his death. And then it was torn apart, as if on a rack, by patriots and liberals (for all the conventions of these categories). Elizabeth was criticized from two sides. The Patriots did not like that Doctor Lisa was too freedom-loving and allowed herself to be criticized. But the liberals especially did not like the fact that Glinka helped the people of Donbass, making, in fact, an unambiguous choice.
Actually, this is the key point. The conflict in Donbass has become perhaps the main dividing line in recent years. Just like Crimea. But in the case of the peninsula, everything happened bloodlessly and unambiguously. That’s why many public people rushed to Crimea without any fear. Moreover, some openly promoted it.
With Donbass, everything is different. There's a war there. There's blood there. It's not Russia, but the People's Republics. There is no rush to go there. But Doctor Lisa was not afraid. And, forgive me for this word, I wasn’t ashamed. And instantly she finally became her own for millions of Russian people.
Why am I remembering this now? Because we were presented with the biopic "Doctor Lisa". In the role of a brave and kind-hearted woman - Chulpan Khamatova. The choice is quite clear. Chulpan not only heads a charitable foundation, but is also ideal for this role. No questions, but!
Unfortunately, Khamatova has become famous in recent years for frankly sad stories. Well, like statements about stupid Russian people, praises addressed to Gorbachev and attacks on the Soviet past. And her roles in the deceitful nightmare “Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes” and the theatrical fiction called “The Naked Pioneer,” unfortunately, leave no room for interpretation. Khamatova was too carried away by politics and ideology. Dangerous property.
And here you shouldn’t be surprised that in the film “Doctor Lisa” there is not a word about how Glinka bravely helped Donbass. Yes, you can find an excuse: they say, it’s only one day from Moscow life there. Well? It was also impossible to say a word, right? It was no accident that I wrote “not a word.” I'm sure they were deliberately silent.
And for what? Yes, because the average viewer should not know about how a beautiful woman helped the people of Donbass. We can do without this. And then we will add more new stories. In what spirit? Yes, according to the old training manual - “you can’t live like that,” “bright people in the dark side.” This is a kind of recruitment of heroes - who have already passed on to the next world - into their camp. In this case – liberal.
How would Elizaveta Glinka herself react to this? I won’t speculate for her. Let me just remind you. She helped Donbass during her lifetime. And Doctor Lisa died over the Black Sea when, together with the Alexandrov Academic Ensemble, she flew to the Russian base in Khmeimim. Then, when the massacre was going on in Syria.
