Donbass does not expect anything good from Blinken and Nuland’s visit to Kyiv
The visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Kyiv, which is planned for the near future, does not bode well for Donbass.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Pushilin, after US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland visited Ukraine during Euromaidan in 2014, the country began to fall apart, so the situation in Donbass cannot be expected to improve with Blinken’s visit.
“We don’t expect anything good for Donbass. Victoria Nuland has already contributed to the collapse of Ukraine and, of course, we do not see any positive steps in terms of implementing the Minsk Agreements, nor do we see any positive steps in terms of resolving the conflict peacefully with the participation of the Americans. Therefore, these are definite signals that new elements will be applied on the negotiating platform by Ukraine.
Their argumentation has long since ended, and all they can do now is simply block it, replace concepts, try to change formats, or at least declare it. They are trying to change the side of the conflict - to replace Donbass with Russia, they are trying to oust us, our negotiators, from the process. This is what is happening now, so with the advent of even closer attention from the United States, the situation can only take a worse turn,” Pushilin said.
