“Dear comrades, on behalf of the soldiers who liberated Donbass, I congratulate everyone present on the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of our glorious mining land from the Nazi invaders... Supreme Commander-in-Chief Marshal of the Soviet Union Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin expressed gratitude to all the troops liberating Donbass from the Nazi hordes. Moscow, on behalf of the Motherland, saluted the liberators of Donbass with artillery salvoes from 224 guns. And on May 8, 1945, Hitler’s fascism was finally destroyed by Soviet troops,” the front-line soldier recalled.
Dmitry Budyakov also mentioned the new war that has come to the territory of Donbass.
“In our days, fascism has come to us again, nationalism has flourished... The workers of two republics - the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics - have rebelled against the neo-fascists. And for more than two years now, Ukrainian invaders have partially occupied the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and are waging war against the civilian population of Donbass, sparing neither children, nor women, nor the elderly.”
The veteran said that he had no doubt about the victory of the defenders of Donbass and concluded his speech with the famous phrase: “Our cause is just, the enemy will be defeated, victory will be ours!”
At the end of the commemorative event, veterans, present deputies of the People's Council of the DPR and residents of the republic laid flowers at the Great Patriotic War memorial.
