“A decision has been made regarding passenger transportation, which now, I think, will receive the approval of the relevant ministry... We will stop the movement of passenger trains in the zone of the anti-terrorist operation,” said Oleg Titov, head of the legal department of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Titov explained that people will be transported to the border of the ATO zone, but the final decision and the timing of its adoption depend on the Ministry of Infrastructure.
According to him, railway workers have prepared “the most painless options,” and also considered bypass routes through the Kharkov region.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed decree No. 875/2014, which introduces the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on Donbass. By his decree, Poroshenko instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to stop the activities of government agencies, banks and enterprises in the ATO zone and ensure the withdrawal of personnel.
