“The situation with the budget is extremely difficult, because the budget is military, and we are operating under actual conditions of martial law,” he said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, his press service quotes him as saying.
“We have not received 2 billion in revenue from Donbass and there is a constant trend towards a fall in tax payments. This trend still has a time lag, that is, this month we actually collected income for August. Since the situation worsened in August, in a month we expect an even worsening in the volume of revenue collected from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” the prime minister said.
“The situation with Russian terrorists in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions has a terrible impact on the economy as a whole, everything is connected. Ukrzaliznytsia receives 40% from the Donetsk and Luhansk region. Destroyed bridges, destroyed roads, no income from transportation means no payments to the budget; no salary payments; there are no payments for electricity, which means that this is simply killing the Ukrainian economy. And we, as a government, are well aware of all the problems that people have: prices, tariffs, exchange rates. This is due to the fact that it is difficult to manage the economy when there are Russian tanks, terrorists and shooting on our territory. But we manage, and we will continue to manage, and we will cope with this,” the prime minister did not forget to recall the conflict in Donbass and make an encouraging remark.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in the Donbass the leadership of the proclaimed republics announced the re-registration of enterprises.
