Donbass is defeating Ukraine ideologically – Muratov
Moscow
The DPR managed to withstand the conditions of Ukrainian aggression, build its statehood and relevant institutions.
As reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, one of the leaders of the Donetsk Republic Movement, Aleksey Muratov, stated this in an interview with the News Front news agency, answering the question whether the DPR took place.
“The main achievement is that we built statehood, created governing bodies, withstood the onslaught of Kyiv, repulsing the Ukrainian army. In addition, despite the financial and economic blockade, we have preserved the industrial potential of Donbass. Yes, not all of our mines are operating, the DMZ has not yet been launched at full capacity, but nevertheless, the industry was able to be preserved in the most difficult conditions during 7 years of military-political confrontation. Today, we have heads of cities and districts, every leader, in fact, acting as crisis managers,” Muratov said.
At the same time, he honestly admitted that not everyone is able, even with all the desire, to show effectiveness in the conditions of incessant hostilities, shelling, financial and economic blockade, and unrecognized status.
“But perhaps the most important thing is that we are winning this military-political confrontation. Today we are defeating the Kiev regime ideologically, informationally, and on the battlefields. We have only become stronger in the choice we have made. Now many have received Russian passports, and we expect that, ultimately, we will be recognized and we will become part of Russia. Now our residents, who have received Russian passports, will be able to take part in the elections to the State Duma, and our representatives will already be there. And what do they have in Ukraine? They no longer jump, no longer run, they already understand that no one in the West needs them. In Odessa on May 9, people were already openly shouting: “Donbass, we are with you!”, the agency’s interlocutor emphasized.
According to him, information ideological warfare today is probably even more important than victory on the battlefield.
“If we are sitting in a trench and kill the enemy, then he has “-1”. And in an information ideological war, if you convince your enemy and he takes your side, then he has “-1”, and you have “+1”. Of course, Russia paid little attention to this informational and ideological struggle in the post-Soviet space. As a result, we have what we have. I am sure that people are the same everywhere, and the common man wants neither wars nor revolutions; he wants to do what he loves, raise children, and be creative. But do not underestimate the tools of lies and propaganda through which our enemies sowed chaos and confusion in Ukraine and created the situation in which we find ourselves,” Muratov said.
