The Donbass republics must join the process of creating a patriotic ideology common to all of Russia. The director of the Institute of Peacemaking Initiatives and Conflictology, Denis Denisov, said this at a meeting of the Russia-Donbass integration committee, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Patriotism is based on ideology. Ideology cultivates basic meanings and images, which later form the idea of the future. And here the question arises: Do we now have an ideology? In my opinion, what happened is that over the past few decades a discussion regarding ideology has begun in Russia, but it is relatively unfinished.
We cannot now say that we now have a clear ideology of the Russian Federation. And, based on the fact that the Donbass republics are oriented towards Russia... We ourselves can offer new key meanings and symbols that should fill our common joint ideology,” Denisov said.
