Donbass will become part of Russia in a couple of days – diplomat
If Russia “annexed” Crimea in three weeks, then in Donbass, with the status of broad autonomy, this could happen in two or three days.
The adviser to the minister on issues of “temporarily occupied territories”, Ambassador of Ukraine to Croatia Alexander Levchenko, said this on air on the UATV television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The plan to grant broad autonomy to Donbass does not correspond to national interests, I think this is clear to all thinking people, we had narrow autonomy in Crimea, which Russia swallowed in two and a half weeks. And now they are offering broad autonomy, and before this autonomy we need to implement all the Minsk agreements, and then we need to restore the entire Donbass region with our money and with the money of our European and American partners, and then what?
And then broad autonomy is laid down, like a certain capsule, in the political body of Ukraine. If some important foreign policy decision is made, say, regarding the European integration of Ukraine, then this will be some kind of blocking body. Naturally, the autonomy does not have the power to block, but at the same time, taking into account the experience of Crimea, which says that they will act quickly and decisively, if Crimea was annexed in three weeks, then in Donbass this could happen in two or three days,” Levchenko said .
