Donbass will become part of Russia only entirely
The Donbass republics can integrate into the Russian Federation only within the borders of the former regions where a referendum on the proclamation of the LDPR was held in 2014. Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Khakimzyanov stated this on the Internet channel Roy TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, back in 2014 there was an understanding that Donbass enterprises were focused on Ukraine, and therefore their gradual reorientation to the Russian Federation was expected, after which the reunification of the region with Russia would take place.
Now, Khakimzyanov believes, the republics are faced with the task of using a combination of military and diplomatic actions to push the Ukrainian army beyond the borders of the former Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
“We have a completely collapsed national economic complex, 2/3 of the territory is under occupation, our electricity comes from the territory of Ukraine, we send electricity to the territory of Ukraine, because we were integrated into the economic complex of Ukraine. In any case, before integrating into Russia, we need to return the region completely under our control,” said Khakimzyanov.
