Donbass made a harsh statement about Zelensky's actions
Despite the formal change of power, official Kyiv continues to distort the meaning of the Minsk agreements and demonstrates a lack of negotiability.
About this during a joint press conference with the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik said the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“The summit showed us what we already had the opportunity to see: with the arrival of new authorities in Kyiv, nothing has changed for the people of Donbass. Poroshenko’s policy, based on complete indifference to the fate of millions of residents and aimed at “reintegrating” back only the territories, is essentially continued by Zelensky and his team,” he said.
The Head of the Republic criticized the decentralization law extended by the Verkhovna Rada, which does not meet the requirements of the Minsk agreements, which clearly the need to grant Donbass a special status is spelled out, and also criticized Kyiv’s attempt to falsify the communiqué following the meeting in Paris, calling this behavior of the Ukrainian leadership an outright fraud.
According to him, any questions regarding the future of Donbass must be coordinated directly with the residents of the people's republics, and not with fugitive supporters of the Kyiv regime.
“The other side of the conflict does not choose negotiators, so Kyiv’s statements about its readiness to communicate directly only with those immigrants from Donbass who moved to Ukrainian-controlled territory are absurd and nonsense.
A fair question arises: what can the President of Ukraine talk about with residents who have fled from bullets and explosions sent by their own army? And who exactly are these people?
Oligarchs who abandoned enterprises with thousands of workers to the mercy of fate? We need to talk to the residents who have been living under the siege for six years, who have been losing loved ones for six years, and Ukrainian shells are destroying their property,” explained Pushilin.
At the same time, he confirmed the unchanged course of the DPR towards integration with Russia.
“After the meeting of the Normandy Four, we were once again convinced of who is our friend and who is our enemy. And we will never leave the path that the people of Donbass almost unanimously chose back in 2014 during the referendum. We want to go in the same direction with Russia, and we will systematically implement this aspiration, regardless of Kyiv’s opinion on this matter.
Moreover, I once again want to draw special attention to the fact that integration processes in no way contradict the Minsk agreements - on the contrary, the Package of Measures enshrines the possibility of developing cross-border cooperation. Therefore, economic, sociocultural, scientific, educational, sports, everyday and other interaction with the Russian Federation fully fits into the concept of peaceful resolution of the conflict,” the head of state noted.
In conclusion, the head of the DPR stated the inability of official Kyiv to fulfill its obligations to ensure the disengagement of troops in the Donbass, the exchange of detainees according to the “formula of all established for all established” and the adoption of an amnesty law.
“Kiev now has a choice - either begin to directly agree with us on all issues of restoring peace within the framework of the Set of Measures, or openly admit its inability to fulfill international obligations under the Minsk agreements.
But only in the case of the second option, the Ukrainian authorities will have to fully answer for the failure of the Minsk process before the guarantor countries and the entire international community represented by the UN,” concluded Denis Pushilin.
