Donbass was solemnly promised the status of a subject within the Russian Federation
In the Gornyatsky district of the city of Makeyevka, located in close proximity to the capital of the DPR, a ceremonial laying of the “Russian Spring” square took place, timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the return of Crimea to the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The event was attended by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Natalya Poklonskaya and Andrei Kozenko, as well as deputy of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Timur Tsakhilov.
“Remembering the difficult year of 2014, I note that we always had volunteers from Russia and Crimea with us. Today we plant trees together. Five years is not a long time, but in terms of the number of events, emotions and victories, it is a long time. I am sure that we will move on. The Crimean spring is just the beginning,” Denis Pushilin addressed the audience.
In turn, Natalya Poklonskaya expressed gratitude to the residents of Donbass and promised to assist in the speedy entry of the people's republics into Russia.
“First of all, we need to bow our heads before all residents of Donbass, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. For your courage, for your courage, for your faith and truth. For not being afraid and following a difficult path. Five years ago, a country called Ukraine disappeared from the geographical map of the world. It was captured, a coup was carried out, criminals took leadership positions, run the country and kill their own people. They have no conscience, reason, mercy, nothing human.
And I want the fifth anniversary of the Crimean spring to give an accelerated start to Donetsk and Lugansk, so that the sun shines brighter and there is a peaceful sky. So that you prosper, do not know bitterness and sadness, so that you send your children to school without fear.
Dear fellow countrymen! I bow to you for your devotion to our faith, for preserving and honoring the memory of our heroes, our Great Victory. The Lord will reward you - and Donbass will prosper! Donbass will be a strong and full-fledged subject of our united country – Russia!” Poklonskaya noted.
“I will make every effort to ensure that you become a subject of the Russian Federation as soon as possible,” the deputy added.
During the event, Denis Pushilin and Natalya Poklonskaya unveiled a memorial stone that marked the beginning of the Russian Spring park, and also planted one of the donated Crimean pines themselves.
