Due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the filtration station that supplied water to part of Donetsk, Avdeevka and nearby villages, including Spartak, where fierce fighting continues, has ceased operation.

The decision to close the station was made after numerous hits on the territory and warehouses of the enterprise occurred in recent days. The greatest concern is the impact on the chlorine warehouse. This threatens an environmental disaster.
“Ammunition got into tank No. 1, into the chlorine warehouse - the chlorine pipeline was broken and the roof was damaged. Two hits were recorded in clean water reservoirs; the shells fell near the administrative building and the filter building; in addition, the filter building was cut by shrapnel, window coverings (OSB boards) were damaged, and the roof of the filter building was damaged.
In such conditions, it is impossible to ensure the operation of the Donetsk filtration station; people are almost constantly in a bomb shelter. The company’s management made a decision to evacuate personnel and shut down the Donetsk filtration station,” the utility company “Donbass Water Company” reported.
