Donetsk residents were congratulated at the OSCE office on their first victory and asked to end the protest
The action, which has been going on for more than a week in Donetsk under the headquarters of the OSCE SMM, has achieved its first results - the mission began to interact with representatives of the Donbass republics in the case of the Lugansk JCCC observer Andrey Kosyak, who was kidnapped by the Ukrainian special services.
The mayor of the capital of the DPR, Alexey Kulemzin, said this while speaking to the protesters, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In the morning, as promised, Russian rock singer Yulia Chicherina, who had supported the Donbass republics since the first year of the war, performed at the OSCE office.
The singer performed compositions dedicated to the LDPR militia - such as “Volunteer” and “On the Front Line”.
In addition, a song was sung about the dead children of Donbass - “Please”, dedicated to two-year-old Anya Kostenko, who died during artillery shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on August 13, 2014.
The protest proceeded as usual, but by the evening the rally participants were called upon to close the picket. The head of the Donetsk administration, Kulemzin, arrived at the Park Inn hotel, where the OSCE office is located, and addressed the rally participants.
Kulemzin said that due to the spread of coronavirus, the republic, like the Russian Federation, is again tightening quarantine measures. The corresponding decree was signed today by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
“People are sick, seriously ill, hospitals are overcrowded. You are here in the fresh air, observing the mask regime, but at the same time, a huge number of our caring fellow countrymen join you, and the risk of spread increases,” the mayor explained.
He called for the social network action to be postponed, especially since the open-ended rally produced results.
“You managed to achieve a result - the OSCE mission began to interact with us, hold joint events, and the further fate of our comrade Andrei Kosyak will be dealt with by the Foreign Ministries of the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Kulemzin said.
Before starting to dismantle the tent city, the participants of the action spoke at a free microphone and called on them to achieve full fulfillment of their demands online.
