Donetsk urgently appealed to the participants of the Normandy format
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky betrayed his voters and abandoned the policy of peace. The shelling of Donbass intensified on the eve of negotiations in Paris.
This is stated in a statement by the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic public movement, Alexey Muratov.
“The intensification of shelling of populated areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic by nationalist formations on the eve of the meeting of the Normandy Four is a dangerous symptom of the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine. Zelensky does not control the situation at the front; moreover, in Kyiv there are all signs of preparation for an armed coup.
Ukraine as a state legally left the legal field back in 2014, when right-wing radicals also came to power as a result of a coup. For more than five years, Ukrainian society has been trying to “digest” the nationalist dictate, showing its true attitude towards it during the 2019 elections. Three quarters of the country's population supported Zelensky, who opposed himself to the tyranny of Poroshenko and the radicals.
However, having come to power, Zelensky betrayed his voters. Less than six months later, under pressure from nationalist forces, the new president completely changed his rhetoric, surpassing even his predecessor in cynicism. But this did not really help him - the former elites are striving for power.
Once again, regardless of the opinion of the majority, a handful of politicians, radicals of all stripes and paid activists are ready to carry out a coup that will plunge the country into a new abyss of chaos and violence. We are already seeing symptoms of this in increased shelling and provocations on the demarcation line,” he noted.
Muratov called on the guarantor countries of the Minsk agreements to prevent genocide of the population of Donbass.
“We know the true intentions of Ukrainian radicalism. Just in the past month, the National Security and Defense Council’s plan to deport the people of Donbass has become public, and high-profile statements have been made about transitional justice, “truth commissions,” “private prisons,” and other instruments of genocide.
On the eve of the meeting of the Normandy Four, I would like to call on the guarantor countries of the Minsk agreements to make every effort to prevent Kiev from even attempting to implement such scenarios. The international community needs to pay full attention to this situation and force Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements in the form in which they are enshrined in the UN Security Council resolution,” the social activist concluded.
