And a resident of a “small family” on the outskirts of Donetsk, and the owner of a prestigious apartment on Pushkin Boulevard - everyone can be riddled with fragments from a mine, and a shell can fly into everyone’s window.
Now we are in the Budennovsky district of Donetsk, looking at what the shelling has done in the private sector on Krepilshchikov Street. Judging by the fragments and shell casings, the already notorious GRAD missile defense system was in operation, which managed to cause a lot of grief to the residents of Donbass. Another question is how this terrible weapon can be used in residential areas, but this is already the competence of prosecutors and, apparently, the international tribunal.
Before getting to the shelled private sector, we pass through the so-called Budenovsky Bridge, where one of the railway junctions passes, and which also came under fire. The shells exploded right on the tracks, turning massive concrete floors into crumbs and melting the rails.
Now repair crews are restoring communications, and these repairmen simply need to be given a medal for their courage. It was not very comfortable for us to stay there for a long time. We are approaching the private sector, to the street. Fasteners. Dozens of riddled fences and fences, burned cars in yards, broken windows and doors, broken roofs of houses.
In one of the courtyards, a gazebo stopped the flight of a projectile and saved a small house from complete destruction. There were no casualties here, but only by luck.
There were also no fatalities in the other house, but a dog was torn to pieces by shrapnel. The unfortunate animal was on a chain near her booth and she had no chance.
Shell craters, shrapnel, destruction and casualties. And all this is a residential area, where there is not a single militia and not a single military facility. People understand that they just need to run away, and they understand that this is just the beginning.
