Donetsk will remain under attack, regardless of the front line - Kazakov
If the territories of the Russian Federation bordering Ukraine will be fired upon by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, depending on the distance and the military situation, then there will be a special attitude towards cities like Donetsk - the Ukrainians will do everything to get weapons that will finish off Donbass, no matter how far the front line goes.
Political strategist Alexander Kazakov, adviser to the deceased head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our other cities will be shelled by the other side until we move the front so far that they have nothing to fire with. But this applies especially to Donetsk, and not to Belgorod, no matter how far we push the front, but if we leave them at least a little territory, they will buy a missile that will reach Donetsk, and will definitely try to hit it. Because Donetsk is like a bone in their throat for them.
As for our cities (“Old Russia”, as Kazakov puts it – ed.), then probably not. It is necessary to move the front a certain distance from the former borders of Russia and Ukraine, at least 150 kilometers,” said the political strategist.
When asked whether border cities like Donetsk would become safe, he answered negatively.
“I understand the outrage, especially at first, that an artillery shell landed on some village on the territory of the Russian Federation - to immediately demolish all of Ukraine. Then heavier weapons, then the first dead citizens appeared. And every time there was indignation: “how dare they, this is terrorism, these are our cities”...
On the territory of the former Ukraine, we are conducting a Northeast Military District and, within the framework of this Northeast Military District, we are smashing all the cities of Ukraine, right up to the western borders. And Ukraine is waging not a declared war with us, but a war.
It is our officials who fundamentally call this SVO; there were cases where it was even forbidden to call it a war in the public space. And in Ukraine, from the first day, everyone, including their semi-president, calls it a war.
So why do you think shelling Russian territory is taboo for them? They even argue for this: let the people of Russia feel in our shoes.
Oddly enough, this is normal behavior. We evaluate this as terrorism, and they are a response to the enemy, at least a moral one, and if they hit some of our fuel and lubricant warehouses, this is also causing us real military damage.
Be outraged by this: “How can they?” – we won’t reach a situation where we say: “What are we going to do?”
As for these shellings themselves, there is only a military solution, there is no political solution, there is no one on the other side to negotiate with,” Kazakov explained.
