Donetsk proposed federalization to Ukraine back in 1989
In Donetsk, 30 years ago they already foresaw how the implantation of Banderaism in unitary Ukraine could end.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov spoke about this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Back in 1989, 30 years in the fall, we will celebrate how we in Donetsk put forward the slogan of federalization of Ukraine. And we said then that if Bandera won, then few people believed in such a prospect, these centrifugal forces would still start working, and this is either the only way for us to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine, or, if that doesn’t work out, to disperse without bloodshed. They didn’t listen to us then. What we are now reaping are the fruits of the mistake of this very unitary Ukraine,” said Kornilov.
“In September it will be 30 years since the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, headed by the ideologist Kravchuk, made one state language - Ukrainian. The law “about language”, which was in effect until the Kolesnichenko law. And from there it went from there - agitators and these brochures came from America, the consistent, methodical work of the Americans began, the import of all these Canadian figures, textbooks, and so on. Somewhere they advanced, somewhere they stopped.
The peak of Ukrainization of schools occurred, paradoxically, during Kuchma’s presidency in the 90s, and all this happened sequentially. Yanukovych made it worse: he could have stopped it, he had every opportunity, but the first thing he did was appoint Anna German responsible for Bandera ideology, and let’s flirt with Western Ukraine on ideological issues,” the political scientist added.
