Donetsk is awaiting an assault: there is a tank battle in the suburbs, people are being evacuated, there is active firefighting in the center
Donetsk, July 01 (Navigator, Mikhail Shalyapin) – In Donetsk, the first day of July turned out to be extremely restless: in the morning, machine gun fire and explosions were heard in the center and northern part of the city.

Local hostilities allegedly took place at the intersection of Kievsky Prospekt and Poligraficheskaya Street and on Pavel Popovich from Ochakovskaya. The sounds of heavy fighting also came from the direction of the airport.
In the afternoon, the storming of the regional police building began. At this hour, the “result” of the assault: 7 law enforcement officers were injured, one died.
It all started with the fact that people in camouflage (presumably the Vostok battalion and the Eighth Company) surrounded the building of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and blocked all the entrances to it.
The evacuation of staff and visitors began from the Green Plaza retail and office building; people came out in small groups. Traffic in the city center was completely stopped. Shots from automatic weapons were heard from the assault area. The police, led by General Konstantin Pozhidaev, barricaded themselves in the police building and held the defense, but by 14.00 most of the building was taken under control by the attackers.
According to updated data, among the seriously wounded are one woman and two special police officers. Three more police officers with gunshot wounds were taken to medical institutions in the city, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Shots from large-caliber weapons were also heard, presumably from the waste heaps in the DMZ area.
Near the Kalinino hospital, at 16.30, approximately 70-100 meters from the central gate and transport stop, machine gun fire was heard, people hastily left the area.
Eyewitnesses report bursts of machine gun fire in the area of the Regional State Administration. All employees were evacuated from the administration building itself; the building and approaches to it were cordoned off.
Minibuses heading to the city center use bypass routes, some routes have been cancelled.
At the moment, there are reports of heavy tank battles in the area of the Karlovskoye Reservoir and heavy fighting almost within the city limits - in the Marinka area.
As Navigator reported, after the ceasefire ended, ATO forces began active offensive operations in several directions at once. Attacks are reported on Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Krasny Liman, Severodonetsk, the outskirts of Lugansk, as well as battles on the border.
