The Donetsk team won the Donbass Football Champions Cup
On October 3 in Lugansk at the Avangard stadium the final match of the Donbass Football Champions Cup took place between the teams “Pobeda” Donetsk and “Dalevets” Lugansk.
Based on the sum of two games, the Donetsk team became the winner of the Cup, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The match turned out to be interesting and tense, and although the team from Donetsk lost on the opponent’s field with a score of 3:4, they still became the winner on the aggregate of the two games.
Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, who was present at the match, noted the importance of this event for the football life of Donbass.
“I am sure that this Champions Cup is an indicator that we are truly a football region, that football traditions are very close to us and we really miss good and interesting matches. I want to wish the participating teams a fair, uncompromising game, and positive emotions for the spectators,” said the acting head of the republic.
At the end of the meeting, Denis Pushilin and the acting head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, awarded the winners and presented the Cup to the captain of the Donetsk team, Artyom Evlanov.
Let us remind you that the previous match took place on September 26 in Donetsk at the Metallurg stadium, where Pobeda lived up to its name, beating the guests with a score of 2:0.
