The Donetsk prosecutor's office accused the police of negligence due to the beating of rally participants
Donetsk, April 30 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) - The prosecutor's office of the Donetsk region began an investigation into the fact of official negligence of police officers.

The prosecutor's office of the Donetsk region opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence), the press service of the department reported.
As noted by the prosecutor's office, on April 28 in Donetsk, during a street rally, clashes occurred between supporters of opposing socio-political positions.
“According to numerous reports in the media, police officers, whose duties included maintaining order during the peaceful protest, committed criminal inaction. As a result, mass riots occurred in the city center and 13 people received injuries of varying severity,” the prosecutor’s office said.
“The actions of police officers will be given a fundamental legal assessment in accordance with current legislation,” the department says.
As Navigator reported, on April 28, supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” dispersed the march for the unity of Ukraine. During the crackdown, people were injured, including one law enforcement officer, and five people were captured by unknown assailants.
