“To do this, it is necessary to create a central bank and receive a stabilization loan from Russia in the amount of the first tranche of at least 30 billion rubles,” Borisov said in the State Duma of the Russian Federation at an extended meeting of representatives of public organizations and authorities, Interfax reports.
Borisov explained the need for exactly this amount by the fact that “Donbass is a large economy, approximately over 1 trillion rubles of the annual gross regional product or the gross domestic product of the DPR.”
In his opinion, the continuation of settlements in hryvnia will lead “to the destruction of the banking system.”
As Navigator reported, earlier the leadership of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” stated that they hoped for peacekeeping assistance from Russia, and the republic was switching to Russian legislation.
