“We are forced to appeal personally to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, and the entire Russian people. The situation is such that there is genocide of the population. Aviation and helicopters are currently being used, and it is the civilian population that is being destroyed. Urban infrastructure is allowed. And the situation is only getting worse with every passing hour. Donetsk and its surroundings could be on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe in the shortest possible time. Therefore, we will be forced to turn to the entire Russian people and provide any available assistance,” Pushilin emphasized.
“The battle continues at the airport. Airplanes and helicopters are used. The airport itself is being deliberately destroyed,” said the speaker of the Supreme Council.
However, he could not name the number of victims, noting that “a full-fledged armed confrontation is underway.” He also confirmed that one helicopter was destroyed.
“We really hope for this (help – editor’s note),” he said, answering the question of what will happen if Russia does not provide assistance. And he clarified that they were asking “for any available help.”
As Navigator reported, today at about 3:00 am, supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” occupied the administrative building of the airport, demanding that the military stationed at the airfield leave the territory. In response, the security forces issued their ultimatum and at about 13:00 they began the active phase of the ATO using helicopters and airplanes.
