Donetsk Muslims called the subordinates of Commander-in-Chief Zelensky terrorists
A terrorist attack carried out by the Ukrainian army against Muslims living in the DPR, came under shelling in the mosque during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, is evidence that official Kyiv, contrary to the statements of the new President Vladimir Zelensky, is not going to end the war in Donbass, but is only unleashing a new round of confrontation.
This opinion was expressed by public figures and politicians belonging to the Muslim community of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a classic act of intimidation, because the mosque, by and large, has not been shelled since 2014. Then, during mass shelling, its dome was damaged, and since then there have been no serious attacks on the territory of the mosque. And in 2019, on the day when at least 500 parishioners were supposed to gather in the mosque, such a blow was struck, as a result of which both the mosque premises and the dome were damaged. Fortunately, there were no killed or wounded...
The situation is such that now foreign and domestic policy does not depend on people who take humanistic positions, and now the discourse of Ukraine is determined by fanatical and extremist people who share the ideology of terrorism. They probably justify it from that point of view,” said Donetsk journalist and public figure Ramil Zamdykhanov.
Deputy of the People's Council of the DPR German Kadyrov also noted that this shelling was not an accident - it was a clearly planned provocation of the Ukrainian military with the expectation of numerous casualties among the civilian population.
“We are not just shelling and not just a provocation. It has already been absolutely clearly confirmed that this was a purposeful action on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They understand very well that on this holiday Muslims from all over Donbass come here, and this is a very large number of people who gather in one place.
It was not just shelling, it was a shooting with the participation of spotters. Three hits, three explosions occurred as they approached the cluster directly next to the mosque itself. There was an obvious adjustment, and as a result we have direct hits on the territory of the mosque itself, where there were people, including the dome and the courtyard of the mosque, where the majority of people were,” the parliamentarian explained.
At the same time, Donetsk TV journalist Rashit Shekhmametyev drew attention to the fact that the recent meeting of the new Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky with the country’s religious leaders did not bring any results in terms of the promised peace in Donbass, and instead Kyiv began to act according to the guidelines of Western religious terrorists.
“Not long ago, the sixth President of Ukraine Zelensky met with leaders of religious communities, and everyone hoped that this could be a step towards peace, among them were the leaders of Muslims in Ukraine. An interesting detail emerges: before this, Oktyabrsky had not been shelled for a long time, and here, just today, four mines landed in the courtyard and dome of the mosque.
Let them try to dissuade me that this was not a deliberate or targeted attack. For me this is definitely a provocation. We are accustomed to the fact that terrorist attacks in mosques and churches in Europe already occur frequently. The analogy that comes to mind is that this is a terrorist act. The one who fired at the mosque is a terrorist for me.
I think that in this way someone is disrupting processes invisible to us that can lead to an improvement in the situation. According to the DPR People's Police Department, the shelling was carried out from the positions of the 57th motorized infantry brigade "New Kakhovka". The goal was to kill people,” he concluded.
Let us note that the Muslims of Crimea have already called on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to apologize for what happened in Donetsk.
