Donetsk militias destroyed the National Guard base: Report from the battlefield (PHOTO)
Donetsk, September 25 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – In Donetsk, as local residents joke, a stage of “fierce truce” is underway. Literally now, artillery shelling of the city from the airport continues, and shells are still falling in the area of residential areas in the Petrovsky district.

But some suburban and marginal areas have not been shelled for several days now: people are beginning to slowly leave bomb shelters and basements.
This happened, in particular, due to the fact that the militia managed to dislodge the forces of the National Guard from the village. Starobeshevo. This village is located in 36 kilometers from Donetsk, and it was there, on its outskirts, that the well-fortified base of the Kiev military was located. However, as a result of fierce fighting, the militia managed to force the Ukrainian army to retreat.
For several days, militia artillery carried out massive attacks on the base. The enemy suffered damage. As a result, Ukrainian troops had to withdraw from their positions.
The agency's correspondent managed to visit the territory of this base, where a fierce battle was taking place.
The first thing that immediately caught my eye was the large amount of destroyed equipment. Tanks and armored personnel carriers, cars, were literally broken into pieces. The turret of one of the armored vehicles flew off several hundred meters from a direct hit from a shell. Apparently, the onslaught of the militia was quite strong, and the troops retreated in great haste.
There were large quantities of first aid kits, medical supplies, dry rations, clothing and personal belongings, a loaded grenade launcher and even some documents lying around everywhere. The fact that the National Guard had serious losses can be judged by the bloody helmets, clothing and shoes scattered throughout the territory.
Overall, this base was a fairly well-fortified area. A large number of dugouts and trenches were dug, interconnected by numerous passages and “alleys.”
The “know-how” in the construction of fortifications looked especially interesting. Minibuses were dug deep into the ground, turning the dugout into a completely comfortable shelter. The only thing missing was a TV and chairs. Life can be judged by the tents and sunbeds, or rather from what was left of them: all the tents along with their property were burned.
Local residents said that the cannonade was often so powerful that there were not even stray animals left throughout the area, they simply ran away. Now there is silence here, but people are afraid to get used to it, they are afraid that this is a deceptive silence, and that the real world is still very far away.
