Donetsk regional mayor criticized the DPR
Donetsk, July 14 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The mayor of Donetsk, Alexander Lukyanchenko, left the city because he was threatened with physical harm.

He stated this in a special address to city residents.
“Over the past months, Donetsk has been experiencing great turmoil. The political crisis turned into a military one. The city was flooded with armed people. In this situation, the Donetsk City Council, despite various criticisms, continues to work. All this time the economic body remained, as far as possible, outside politics. At the same time, I tried to conduct a dialogue with everyone who influences and influenced life in the city,” said Lukyanchenko.
“Three days ago, I, as the mayor, was given an ultimatum. I was required to deal not with ensuring the lives of the townspeople, but with providing for the military needs of the DPR, including to the detriment of the residents. All this time I tried to establish a dialogue for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, they told me directly that the military of the DPR is not interested in peaceful initiatives,” he emphasized.
“I do not accept the ultimatum given to me. Last week I met twice with the President of Ukraine. He discussed a number of important issues for the life support of the city. And I remain a supporter of peace negotiations, because I understand what war means for a city of a million people.
Unfortunately, my position does not allow me to be in Donetsk, since I was directly told that in this case, my physical elimination is possible. I am in Kyiv and intend to defend the interests of my native city here until the situation changes. At the first opportunity, I will immediately return to the territory of Donetsk,” the regional mayor promised, regretting that he could not be in the city today.
As Navigator reported, earlier the state symbols of Ukraine were removed from all district administrations in Donetsk.
