Donetsk mayor-“regional” accused pro-Russian forces of sabotage and car arson
Donetsk, April 08 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The mayor of Donetsk “regional” Alexander Lukyanchenko joined the sharp criticism of pro-Russian activists who held the regional administration building for the second day and announced the creation of a republic independent from Kyiv.
Lukyanchenko said that activists are cutting off gas to city residents, burning cars and trying to turn trolleybuses into barricades.

Over the past few days, gas was cut off in 14 residential buildings; 482 apartments did not receive it during the day. This happened on April 7 at 00:20 in the Kalininsky district. “And by 19 o’clock we restored gas supply,” he said, as quoted by the OstroV website. Lukyanchenko noted that the persons who committed this have not yet been identified.
“Cars are burned almost every night,” the mayor said.
According to him, protesters tried to seize public transport in order to turn some trolleybuses into barricades. In particular, such an attempt was carried out during infiltration of a tram and trolleybus depot.
“I would like to appeal to all citizens not to participate in illegal actions,” Lukyanchenko tried to call to order, noting that city residents who fear for their property and lives regularly turn to him.
Lukyanchenko previously stated that the idea of federalizing Ukraine is no longer possible after Russia’s actions in Crimea.
