Donetsk defector: “Ukraine is dying out - what military potential?!”
Unlike Ukraine, for Russia any negotiations are concrete proposals and actions, and not hot air and populism.
One of the organizers of the rally “For a United Ukraine” in 2014, Enrique Menendez, who subsequently fled the DPR, stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We just can’t decide whether Minsk is either dead or there is no alternative format. Because we hear both statements from our officials. I believe that both the Minsk and Normandy negotiation platforms are enough to resolve the conflict in Donbass. If we add new formats, then this is not the involvement of the United States and Great Britain, but rather direct negotiations, both between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, and official Kyiv with the separatist republics of the LDPR in the east.
I believe that Russia is ready for direct negotiations; there are signals that we received from the Kremlin in 2019, when Zelensky was still perceived well by Russia,” the speaker said.
“Because there was the support of the president,” the presenter noted.
“Exactly. Now we are in a state where the situation can be explained as a “black mark”. I think that Russia does not see Zelensky on the side for the simple reason that the agreements of the Paris summit on December 9 at the highest level of the Normandy Four were never implemented, they remained on paper, and remained chatter.
They don't like this in Russia. If you want negotiations, then let's negotiate, and not make loud statements to shake the air. This is a process for the sake of the process, our politicians are happy with it, but the fact that people are suffering, the economy is dying... So, they said that we need to build up military potential. Ukraine is the second country after Haiti in terms of population decline. In 20 years there will be 30 million or 25 million of us. What military potential? Menendez added.
