Donetsk political scientist: recognition of documents of the DPR and LPR is a warning to Kyiv
Political scientist from Donetsk University Nikolai Ragozin believes that Russia, by recognizing documents issued by local authorities in the LDPR, “killed” several birds with one stone.

“It is no coincidence that this happened during the meeting of the Normandy Four. There was a statement made by Lavrov that the Minsk agreements were being ignored and sabotaged by Kiev. All issues envisaged to resolve the set of measures remain unresolved.
But life does not stand still, people cannot live in limbo without documents that were recognized at least in Russia. Therefore, Moscow took such a humanitarian step, helping residents of the LPR and DPR in resolving this issue.
At the same time, this is a reminder to the guarantors and signatories of the Minsk agreements that if inaction continues, then Russia will continue to take its own independent steps, based on the circumstances and needs of the residents of the republics,” he said in a comment to PolitNavigator.
According to the expert, the decree on the recognition of documents corresponds to the general mood of Russian citizens.
“The State Duma has repeatedly raised the issue of recognizing the LPR and DPR. Residents of Sevastopol, on their own initiative, held a rally demanding recognition of our independence. It is quite possible that similar rallies will take place in other cities. This is a step that suggests that Russia will defend the interests of the DPR and LPR,” Ragozin is sure.
