Donetsk political scientist defeated both Gubarev and the DPR Central Election Commission
Donetsk, October 12 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The scandal surrounding the refusal to register Pavel Gubarev’s organization for the DPR parliamentary elections is clear evidence of the crisis, both of the social activist himself and of the Donetsk Central Election Commission.

“Gubarev, as I understand it, has a difficult situation in principle. Who exactly is Gubarev? "People's Governor"? But this story is from April, not September 2014. Rescued SBU prisoner? (But how stupid he was!) The husband of the former “Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR,” Katya Gubareva? But international practice simply does not know such a shame as the visible results of Gubareva’s activities! The commander of the “Novorossiya” humanitarian battalion, which collects funds in all cities and villages? But there are plenty of such “battalions” besides the Gubarev family one! The head of the mobilization department under the Minister of Defense Igor Strelkov, his personal friend? But Strelkov has now left the Donbass, and the “mobilization department”, in reality, was a tent at the former DOGA, and to the military registration and enlistment offices of the former Donetsk region... I have not heard that Pavel reached them. Pavel Gubarev, de facto, is several dozen videos on YouTube, an extremely stupid profile on FB and... in essence, that’s all! Gubarev – a little money, a newspaper (which no one reads, but can be shown at rallies and to sponsors), TV “Novorossiya” (working in test mode) and a pregnant wife with three children and a recently murdered intelligent assistant! All summer Pavel was looking for a place in Donetsk (DPR) politics. Have not found.
But the point is not at all about Gubarev. I suspect that Roman Lyagin has been given carte blanche to hold unprecedented illegal elections. In principle, we are not talking about a competition between economic, political, social or cultural programs, or about the formation of a representative body of power. On the contrary, as I understand it, a command has been given to assemble an extremely obedient “brigade” that will stamp out laws that someone needs, which over time can be canceled due to their legal nullity. Only under these conditions (if there was such a team), Lyagin, who has personal complaints against the Gubarevites, could “cut down” them at the level of submitting documents.
However, I believe that, ultimately, this conflict will be resolved. The Gubarevites will be elected to the Supreme Council of the DPR (by the way, in Lyagin’s documents this is the highest authority of the DPR in one place called the “Supreme”, and in another – the “People’s Council”). And they will get about five to seven seats. That is, out of a hundred. Obviously, Pavel is not happy with this arrangement. Presumably there was some kind of dispute. This is what was updated in the mentioned decision - I EMPHASIZE! – Roman Lyagin personally.
The social support of the future Supreme Council of the DPR tends to zero as much as possible. Under these conditions, in the Ukrainian swamp, against which people rose up in the spring of 2014 in the Donbass, various monsters are raising their heads. Donbass, alas, has not yet freed itself from the ills of the former Ukraine. For this dragon is one of those that can, of course, be defeated on the fronts (I never doubted this, even in the most difficult moments of the siege of Donetsk), but it is much more difficult to tame and force to lay golden eggs in the form of real democracy.
We live in a difficult situation - it's true! Another thing is that nothing can be worse than Ukraine. Although this, of course, is little consolation, alas! – summarized Mannekin.
