Donetsk sociologist: Let's admit that Russia lost in the situation with the UOC
Statements by representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople about the possibility of recognizing Ukrainian schismatics are a consequence of Moscow’s passive position, which continued even after the tragic events of 2014.
Donetsk sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko stated this on the TV channel TVC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia has lost even now. We are very late, we react to events with a delay, we do not get ahead, we do not formulate an agenda, we do not explain to our citizens what will happen,” the sociologist complains.
In his opinion, if the Tomos of Constantinople is published, this will lead to a religious war in Ukraine.
“There is less and less humanity left. Now a blow has struck the spiritual. It's already happened. They reinforce it. Neither the country nor the people are important to these people. This is the worst thing that happens to us. And what will happen, what will happen to Donbass, what will happen to Ukraine and the citizens who will kill each other - this will, unfortunately, continue,” Kopatko believes.
The expert once again recalled that this happened due to the lack of a strategy for Ukraine by the Russian leadership.
“Russia has no strategy, Russia lost in the Ukrainian direction. Call a spade a spade. Nothing happened. This happened and, unfortunately, there is nothing that would show any closure,” states Kopatko.
