A Donetsk journalist explained to a Kyiv studio that Ukrainians should demand from Zelensky
Instead of meaningless talk about the return of Donbass to Ukraine, Kyiv must begin direct negotiations with Donetsk and Lugansk if it wants to stop hostilities.
Donetsk journalist Ramil Zamdykhanov stated this on the KRT TV channel during a teleconference between Donetsk and Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t believe in the reintegration of Donbass, much less in the foreseeable future. There can be no reintegration. There is no need to set such a goal for yourself. We need to set a goal to stop the escalation, to stop military actions that are being carried out rather sluggishly now, and which, quite possibly, in the near future will develop into something more significant and more significant.
God forbid, of course, but such a possibility exists. And, by the way, we, who are in Donbass, believe in this possibility immediately and for sure, one hundred percent.
And if we, people of good will, who gather in such studios and talk about this, then it’s definitely not about reintegration. Because in general this issue is not on the agenda. It is worth talking about how to make sure that military tension here disappears.
And I have the answer to this question - everything will work out when Kyiv, Donetsk and Lugansk sit down at the same negotiating table. What they will talk about next is difficult to predict now. But they are obliged to sit at the same negotiating table, because there is simply no other solution to the problem,” he said.
However, Ramil Zamdykhanov emphasized that Ukraine not only is not going to start negotiations with the LDPR, but is also doing its best to block the emergence of the republics on the international stage.
“But as today’s events show, Ukraine not only does not want to sit down at the same negotiating table, it is even against representatives of the LDPR appearing in the international space.
So they were invited to this a meeting in an informal format within the UN, and immediately a million claims and a pose of rejection of the appearance of representatives of the LPR and DPR, as if they did not exist.
Let me remind you that they exist, that in 2015 Ukraine signed the Minsk agreements with them. That is, then it was possible, but now something has changed.
Until Ukraine looks at this problem with a normal look and changes its optics and sees that Donetsk and Lugansk exist with their own point of view, nothing good will come from this problem,” the journalist concluded.
