“Yesterday, at about nine o’clock in the evening, a total of up to eighty units of military equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles, howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems, left Stakhanov for Debaltsevo. Human intelligence reported immediately; the artillery worked; but a significant part of the enemy forces reached the Debaltsevo ledge,” volunteer Yuri Kasyanov told
According to him, this morning the advance group of rebels, consisting of a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, and a company of infantry, “saddled the vital Artemovsk-Debaltsevo road in the Logvinovo region.”
“There is a battle going on... There is practically no communication in the zone beyond Lugansk; There is little reliable information,” he noted.
“It is obvious that the situation in the Debaltsevo region is difficult. The situation was predictable, since the tactics of blind defense inevitably lead to disastrous results... The only way out was a counterattack with deep coverage of the advancing enemy and leveling the front line. For example, by eliminating the ledge in the area of the Bakhmut highway. But this is already in the realm of science fiction...” says Kasyanov.
