“Military sappers continue to work on demining infrastructure in settlements liberated from terrorists,” said Andrey Lysenko, speaker of the National Security and Defense Council Information and Analytical Center
“At the risk of their own lives, they clear mines around the clock, buildings and other vital infrastructure so that residents of liberated cities can return to their homes as soon as possible and begin a peaceful life,” Lysenko noted.
According to him, “soldiers of engineering units pave routes for the delivery of humanitarian supplies, ensure the work of repair teams that restore destroyed facilities and infrastructure.”
“Over the past few days, sappers have neutralized almost a ton of explosives, about ten improvised explosive devices, as well as 20 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines planted by terrorists,” he said.
“Members of sapper units have to deal with modern, varied methods of planting explosives and mining methods, which indicates that terrorists are using professionally trained demolitionists,” says Lysenko.
As Navigator reported, earlier in Slavyansk the Ukrainian military blew up the SBU building because they were afraid to clear it.
