Deputy from the European Solidarity party Irina Gerashchenko and ex-deputy Mustafa Nayem, being journalists, constantly talked about high ideals, but when they got into politics, they first of all began to crack down on freedom of speech.

The famous Ukrainian TV journalist Konstantin Stogniy spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Watchers,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Inter TV channel became the base for journalist Irina Gerashchenko, who went into politics, may she forgive me, as well as other people who went into politics. The fact is that these are not journalists, these people are temporary workers.

Real journalists, if they go into politics, they will go to defend the principles of freedom of speech, and those people who came under the name of journalists did nothing for freedom of speech, they did even worse, under them laws were passed that harmed us from receiving information,” – Stogniy was indignant.

He also told how former journalist Mustafa Nayem, after entering politics, became a completely different person, who immediately gave a damn about all his high ideals.

“The same former journalist Mustafa Nayem, when he was detained by the police, he demanded that the employee who detained him be fired from the internal affairs bodies. A whole investigation began: what did this employee do? He stopped the transport with Mustafa Nayem, and he did not have documents with him. The policeman radioed that he was establishing the identity of a person of Caucasian nationality. What was this ordinary employee supposed to say? And Nayem insisted on his dismissal, and shouted that he was a journalist.

And now I see that he is the deputy general director of Ukroboronprom. Where is the journalist? Where is everything that he talked about with me, about high motives, about freedoms, about people, where did it all go? I understand that they were never journalists,” added Konstantin Stogniy.
