The price of vegetables from the so-called “borscht set” has increased by 200-300% in Ukraine since the beginning of the year. Director of the Economic Discussion Club Oleg Pendzin stated this today at a press conference in Kyiv.

“The borscht set has grown enormously since the beginning of the year. We have almost 300% for cabbage since the beginning of the year and 400% since last year. Prices for potatoes and onions have increased by 200-250% since the beginning of the year,” Pendzin said.
According to his data, already in July prices for poultry, lard, sausage, milk and butter increased within 1-4%, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A very dangerous trend: the price of social bread has been rising for the 7th month in a row. Since the beginning of the year, more than 13%. Compared to last year this is 16%. Considering that bread today is the main product of Ukrainians, this is an exciting figure,” Pendzin said.
