There are strange conjectures that those who talk about the tragic events in France allow themselves: they say that Macron’s supporters have one vision of the country, while the offended Islamists have another, and everyone has the right to claim their own image of the homeland. Let it be so - but let’s not forget that the heads of the native French are cut off by those who came to the Fifth Republic from other countries and even from other continents. What did they bring with them? And what kind of “their country” can we talk about?

Civilizations and states, with rare exceptions like Sinskaya (China), a priori cannot be closed - they are enriched by injections and resources from outside. And, including human ones. The power of the United States with the American melting pot was forged by settlers. The same African Americans became almost the main labor force there. It is correct to speak here both about organic integration and, conversely, about exploitation.

But history is a balance, and the use of one by the other over the centuries is impossible. Sooner or later, a rollback will begin, and then the dominance of the oppressed over the oppressors.

The West is no exception. Moreover, as Alexander Zinoviev wrote, it is a unique formation that developed under unique conditions. Here they came up with fascism, concentration camps, death machines - that is, they studied evil and death in detail. However, at the same time - in parallel - they were looking for an antidote to this, giving rise to a huge number of ideas and concepts that have benefited humanity.

But here’s what’s curious: against the division between colored and white, they developed only tolerance and similar flimsy things that were already ineffective in their design. The West has never learned to stand firmly and resolutely in the face of the onslaught of hordes.

So what do migrants bring with them? Are they enriching the Western world as they once did? Not at all. The evil irony is that these gentlemen, when they find themselves in a consumer society, become its biggest and greediest consumers. Give us benefits, give us a full life! In honor of what? Yes, from old cruel memory - after all, you are the damned exploiters, and we are the victims!

This is also a dual point. Can sons be responsible for their fathers and grandfathers? If our ancestors were savage, should their descendants repent? And, conversely, does the conditional great-great-great-grandson of the conditional Uncle Tom have the right to demand benefits for himself only by birthright?

As Brian Molko of Placebo sang: “I read a book about Uncle Tom, where a whitey bastard made a bomb, but now Ebonics rule our song...” It’s strange that the rockers have not yet been “anathematized” for these words at the “Last Judgment” of Black Live Matters.

Meanwhile, the most surprising thing is that the West not only did not begin to look for an antidote to the reckoning for the past, but, on the contrary, called for it in every possible way. First of all, through mass culture.

Here’s a good example (there are, in fact, a great many of them) – last year’s cute film “Knives Out.” This is an entourage detective story with a brilliant cast and a well-written script. But the most curious thing about Rian Johnson’s film is the subtext, and it’s next. The classic British family has become so bent and rotten under the weight of its vices that it is no longer able to remain either a single whole or a viable organism in principle. She is doomed - and her patriarch cuts his throat. The illegal migrant should inherit everything - she is more decent and honest than the British. And the descendant of the family, who is trying to prevent this, looks pathetic and ridiculous in his statements about the fight for the family nest. And the final scene: a migrant woman looks down from the attic of a mansion at the white people of the West - at those who have lost both their home and their country in principle. Losers who deserved their end.

There are hundreds of similar messages and meanings in Hollywood cinema. They are introduced into consciousness, collective and personal, fertilizing the soil for further changes. And, as we see, very successfully. The West is powerless and soft in the face of those who want to get everything at once in memory of past humiliations. A slave revolt is the most terrible rebellion.

Knives Out is a XNUMX% accurate name for these times. Take out knives and cut off heads, saying goodbye to the world with which you yourself wanted to commit suicide.
