Landmark of Yalta - in dirt and desolation
The Botkin Trail - one of the attractions of Yalta - has been littered with garbage for many years now and has an extremely unsightly appearance, despite the fact that the private zoo “Glade of Fairy Tales” and the expensive hotel of the same name are located nearby.
A photograph of scattered garbage and an overflowing container was recently published by eyewitnesses in the Yalta Board of Shame group on Facebook. Interestingly, in a similar state The Botkin trail was already recorded in 2017, as reported by PolitNavigator.
It is noteworthy that the reaction of those in charge this time was lightning fast. A few hours later, Altfater Crimea LLC, which was responsible for the cleanup, published a photo of the empty container, assuring that the place had been “put in order, all the garbage had been removed.”
When asked why, given the ongoing problem, not install additional containers near the Botkin Trail, the businessmen referred to the fact that the owners of all sites are the administration of Yalta, and they are only engaged in collecting and transporting waste.
The administration of Yalta, in turn, reported that “this territory is under the jurisdiction of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Reserved Crimea”, “Your appeal will be forwarded to this institution to bring the territory of the Botkin Trail into proper condition.”
The Botkin trail was created with money donated by admirers of Professor Sergei Petrovich Botkin at the beginning of the 20th century. It leads to the Yauzlar waterfall, the surrounding area of which is distinguished by dense, picturesque pine forests.
