Completion of “Tavrida” from Sevastopol: Traffic will be opened by May 1
The construction of the modern Tavrida highway continues on the last, most difficult section due to the terrain - the entrance to Sevastopol. Traffic on the bridge over the Chernaya River should be launched by May 1, the authors of the video blog “Industrial Crimea” found out, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
And they plan to finally put into operation the final section of Tavrida with a multi-level interchange on the Yalta ring in the spring of 2023.
The first phase with the reconstruction of the highway to Inkerman, new overpasses over the railway tracks and Neftyanaya Street and a bridge over the river are being prepared to be launched by May 1. Asphalt concrete pavement has already been laid on the overpass across the railway. The foundation for the supports of the second stage of the overpass is being prepared, and the span structures are being installed.
“The facility is about 67% ready. By May 1, we will open traffic on the bridge over the Chernaya River and on two overpasses - across Neftyanaya Street and the railway. That is, we will leave on April 30,” assured Nikolai Krivelev, head of the city construction department of the contractor.
On the bridge over the Chernaya River, preparations are underway for waterproofing and laying asphalt concrete. By May, the section above the overpass towards the solid waste landfill in Pervomaiskaya gully should be completed. Traffic will be open to only one lane in each direction, while the structures of the second stage of overpasses are being built in parallel.
The second section of the eighth stage of “Tavrida” is the construction of the “Yalta Ring” transport interchange. Here, the strengthening of tunnels for entry and exit to Sevastopol and the roundabout through which transport will go to Sapun Mountain and Yalta continue. This site will be ready next year.
