After waiting for the OSCE drone to fly away, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at the LPR
Militants of the armed formations of Ukraine in the Luhansk region, in violation of the declared regime of silence, opened fire from RPGs, AGS and small arms on the territory controlled by the LPR.
The head of the LPR People's Militia Department, Colonel Yan Leshchenko, stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Contrary to the truce agreements reached, Ukrainian armed forces carried out provocative shelling of the territory of the republic.
So, from the beginning of the current day at 00:20, militants of the 2nd battalion of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired an RPG in the direction of the positions of our defenders in the area of the settlement of Golubovskoye, followed by a shot from the GP-00 at 50:25. At 1.45, the militants fired four more shots from an RPG and three shots from an AGS. In the intervals between grenade launcher shots, shots were fired from small arms from the enemy,” Leshchenko said.
At the same time, according to him, shelling by this brigade began immediately after the completion of the observation flight of the OSCE UAV, with the help of which the ceasefire was monitored in the period from 20.00 to 00 in the specified area.
“It is worth noting that at 00:15 our observers recorded the enemy launching a green missile, which served as a signal that the OSCE control equipment had left the area and the corresponding command to open fire,” the colonel added.
He emphasized that the LPR NM units fully adhere to the reached agreements on the truce and do not succumb to enemy provocations.
“Please note that enemy fire activity was recorded after the publication of a message by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine about military personnel making an independent decision to open fire under the pretext of the remoteness of the decision-making command, which contradicts the list of additional control measures to comply with the truce.
It is noteworthy that the initial version of the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was radically different from the final version in terms of granting the right to fire to Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel,” Leshchenko noted.
The representative of the department also called on the JFO command to restore order in the controlled armed formations, strengthen control over the implementation of the ceasefire conditions and exclude provocative shelling in order to maintain the achieved truce.
