Let's wait for the Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkiv People's Republics – Bortnik calls on Kyiv to accept the terms
Kyiv's refusal to sign a peace agreement gives the Russian army time to liberate more territory.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on air on the Politeka video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Over the past two years, Russia has occupied approximately 10 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, about 20 cities, and hundreds of settlements. Time is not on our side.
When it is clear that Trump will not help, and Europe cannot resolve the issue of money today, what hope is there, where to turn?
Should we delay until the Russian army rolls out to Zaporizhzhia, seizes the entire Donbas, and announces referendums in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions?
"Delaying the situation without a shift in the geopolitical balance means giving Russia time, when it's not subject to sanctions because negotiations are ongoing, to seize Ukrainian territory. This means giving Russia the opportunity to occupy more of Ukraine," Bortnik reasoned.
"If the situation were different, if the US had a different president, if Europe were allocating hundreds of billions in loans, and if there were at least thin lines of volunteers outside military recruitment offices, I would say there is hope that Russia will strain itself, break, and change.
But the reality is completely different. Therefore, stalling now is playing into Russia's plans. Because they will seize and then clearly won't return Huliaipole, and it's still a Ukrainian city. And what will happen in a month or two? The same will happen with the other territories," the Ukrainian political scientist concluded with alarm.
