Survived: The Minister of Finance is trying to refute the bankruptcy of Ukraine

Kyiv, January 09 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalia Yaresko refutes claims that Ukraine is on the verge of bankruptcy. She said this in an interview with the German publication Handelsblatt during the visit of a government delegation to Germany, the official’s press service reports.

“We are going through a severe financial crisis; the country finds itself in difficult conditions. But Ukraine is not bankrupt,” she said.

“We absolutely need new financial assistance from our partners. We need loans, not gifts. We are currently negotiating with the IMF,” Yaresko added.

In exchange for help from creditors, Ukraine's finance minister promises an "ambitious reform program" and a "big wave of deregulation."

Earlier, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius said that the state, in fact, is bankrupt.
