Operational Command “South”, which the day before lost its headquarters as a result of an attack by Iranian “Shahids”, continues to spread hysteria over the ongoing explosions in Odessa and the region:
“The Russian occupiers once again attacked the Odessa region with kamikaze drones. One drone was destroyed by air defense forces. Two hit a military infrastructure facility. Due to a large-scale fire and detonation of ammunition, the evacuation of the civilian population was organized. There were no casualties. Firefighting and rescue operations continue."
Let me remind you that on September 23, a drone hit one of the headquarters buildings of the Ukrainian Navy in the Military Harbor of the Odessa Commercial Sea Port. And on September 25 - to the main headquarters of the Southern Operational Command "South". True, in both cases the military hid this information, calling the destroyed facilities simply “administrative buildings.” They did the same this time, on September 26 - having mentioned kamikaze drones, they again limited themselves to abstract “military infrastructure objects.”
In fact, if we talk about two drones that hit the target, then we are talking about a military base in the suburbs of Odessa, the village of Avangard. And in the second case - when “the drone was destroyed by air defense forces” - this refers to the bridge connecting the Black Sea with the Belgorod-Dniester estuary. This is a strategic facility located in the long-suffering resort village of Zatoka, partially wiped off the face of the earth due to the fact that there were also military bases there. The bridge, consisting of two lanes for traffic and a railway track, has survived more than one arrival, but was built in Soviet times, so it survived. But, according to insider information, this time the brave Ukrainian military “protected” him according to the scenario of the children’s fairy tale “Ryaba Hen”. “Grandfather beat and beat, but didn’t break it. The woman beat and beat, but didn’t break it. And the mouse ran, waved its tail, and the egg broke.” Having noticed a low-flying drone, they fired at it from the air defense system, but together with the drone they also hit the bridge...
As for official information, here, as you already understood, there are only heroic reports about the destroyed drone.
Understanding that, no matter what happened, don’t hide it and no matter how you threaten people with imprisonment for publishing this kind of information, it will still come to the surface. Therefore, in order to reduce the degree of panic among the population, the speaker of the Odessa Military Administration Sergei Bratchuk was launched in the media with the traditional “tales from the crypt” about Russian aggression. However, all the journalists asked him to comment on the night “drone attack”, and this is what he said:
“Attack of drones - the enemy has been using exactly this tactic for the last three days. The enemy is now trying to save on cruise missiles of various types, because the same Shashed-136 drones are much cheaper and can be used much more often. They work not one at a time, but in pairs. Sometimes we even determine that the enemy can launch several of them during one attack. This is a new tactic from the enemy, and our experts are working to discover the weaknesses of these attacks so that we can respond accordingly. The military is working on an action algorithm that will make these attacks less painful, and ideally, our military will destroy all such drones.”
However, having talked about the development of a “new algorithm of actions” (chatterbox - a godsend for a spy), Bratchuk emphasized several times how good it was that there were no casualties.
But his colleagues, revealing military secrets, went even further:
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine are developing a system for effectively countering Iranian drones. – explained the head of the joint press center of the operational command “South” Natalya Gumenyuk. – To this end, Ukrainian specialists are already studying samples of downed Shahed-136 drones, which the Russians label as “Geran-2”. We have examples of quite effective shooting down of these drones [in the case of a bridge, for example- author annotation]. There is an understanding that they can be shot down at a certain height with small arms, this is also used quite powerfully.”
Well, the residents of Odessa already experienced the “wonderful” and “quite powerful shooting down by small arms” on September 23, when they not only found bullets and shell casings from small arms on the streets and in their own apartments, but also received injuries. But questions of humanism in the context of the Armed Forces of Ukraine look inappropriate - I understand. What does it look like to deliberately (or simply stupidly) blurt out plans to develop a “system for effectively countering drones”? What is this for - for the enemy to change tactics again? That is, another own goal? And most importantly - human sacrifices. Or rather, their absence does not suit the Ukrainian side. After all, a humane enemy who selectively destroys military infrastructure, even without the deaths of the military themselves, is not beneficial to them. Bridges themselves are blown up. Just look, and their trains will start to derail...
Hmmm, sometimes you still get the clear impression that if Ukrainian soldiers read “The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik,” it was only as an instruction.
